problems in the 802.16/WiMAX market by offering
a PHY that can be easily configured to generate
custom solutions according to the requirements of
different market segment as well as support full
scalability to accomodate the continuous evolution
in the 802.16 standard.
SiWaves’s PHY offering supports both Base
Stations and Subscriber Stations in point-to-multipoint
(PMP) and point-to-point (PTP) fixed broadband wireless
access markets. It is targeted for non-line-of-sight
(NLOS) applications, operating at high data rates
with a flexibility of channel size. The chip is
equipped with sophisticated carrier frequency synchronization,
carrier phase tracking, timing clock synchronization,
and channel estimation with channel
equalization. The chip also integrates forward-error
orrection (FEC), and direct baseband-to-IF and direct
IF-to-baseband conversions. The unique ASIC architecture
is highly integrated and is designed to reduce power
consumption and die size. Sophisticated and advanced
on-chip power management reduces power consumption
and provide a viable solution for portable applications.
