May 30, 2010 - Lead IC Design Engineer
The lead IC design engineer will have the responsibility of
leading the IC design team for a wireless modem. The
candidate main responsibility will be to implement
the signal processing algorithm into RTL targeting
standard cell ASIC and/or FPGA. The candidate
will work closely with the chief architect
and the signal processing lead to define the product
specifications and translate the high level signal
processing algorithm into clearly defined hardware
specifications. It is a challenging position which
requires a great amount of independent thinking and
superb team leading capabilities in order to deliver
the product on a very tight schedule. The candidate will also be
responsible for the lab verification of the finished
product. This position offers a great opportunity
for career advancement for the right candidate who
would like to apply his knowledge and ambitions to
become part of a winning team. This person
will also support the lead signal processing
engineer R&D efforts to define
technologies for future product development.
Must Have Qualifications:
1. A BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
2. At least 5+ years experience in the
design, specification, integration and testing of
complex, preferably wireless, communication IC with
a track record of at least two successful tape outs.
3. Be an expert in RTL (Verilog/VHDL)
coding and the implications of different design
tradeoff on speed, gate count, power consumption,
etc.
4. High work ethics and absolute diligence in meeting, if not
exceeding, the project requirements.
5. Written and spoken knowledge of English is a must.
Nice to Have Qualifications:
1. Possess excellent knowledge of
coding fixed point arithmetic functions (adders, multipliers,
etc.) and signal processing functions (FFT, FIR
filters, etc.) in RTL.
2. A solid work experience
with commercial EDA design tools for both standard
ASIC and FPGA.
3. A self-starter and be
able to define his/her daily duties with little
management oversight.
4. Comfortable leading a team of multiple engineers of different
disciplines to deliver on budget and on time.
